Autumnal Equinox Helitropes, 2017 Noel Quinn 2nd painting of the dayAutumnal Equinox Helitropes, 2017, an original watercolor painting by Carolyn Lord. This was painted during the Mendocino Open Paint Out. The sunflowers were hovering over late season raspberries in overcast morning light, typical of the Northern California coast. I had done an 11 x 15 watercolor of this scene 2 days before, on September 19, 2017 and decided to return to the motif and create a larger, more complex composition. Carolyn Lord Painted
