This was an interesting move by the Rolex brand, considering that the automatic wound 36mm Datejust had already been introduced in 1945, and the 34mm automatic Rolex Date followed in the 1950s. The movement in these references (e. g. ref. 6094) is manually wound and not COSC certified. This means
